Helwi Beirut’s episode 52!

Hi all!

Today’s episode was full of interesting guests from different fields and reports showcasing the latest happenings. Wood of Joy designer, Joy el-Khoury was our main guest. Wood of Joy is a high-end furniture line made of 100% Cilician cedar wood. It merges between nature’s raw material and design. Every piece is custom-made and available only on demand.

Jihad Yaacoub, SAO director at Saint Joseph School and students at Saint Joseph School Michael Karam and Francesca Kahale joined us on today’s show and discussed the Model United Nations or the MUN. The MUN is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate students about current events,  conflict resolution, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. Saint Joseph School participated in Georgetown University International Model United Nations and won Best Delegation for the Georgetown Model United Nations 2012.

Founder of Baldati.com Chaker Noun was a guest on our program today. He gave us some tips on how to reduce energy consumption in our houses and took us on a tour to the Bekaa region.

Nutritionist Yara Bitar Maalouf discussed hypertension and sodium. What are the foods that contain a lot of sodium and how to replace it?

Psychologist Fadi Kayale founder of PsychAID  talked to us about the misconception of the terms psychology and psychiatry. Psychaid is the first free text based counseling service in the world and the first online Arabic counseling service in the Middle East.

Fadia Abdoush introduced us to the book by Aline Willer. Why are women smarter than men? Why does a man take and a woman gives? How does a woman choose her man? All those questions and more are answered in this book.

Hope you enjoyed today’s episode.

See you back tomorrow.
