Our main guest today was Tania Tabet the founder of the Himaya association working against sexual harassment for children. She talked about work her association does to protect these abused children and her cooperation with Arc en ciel.
She said that there are five different objectives that will make us attain our mission:
- Raising awareness of the general public in order to break the taboos.
- Empowerment of the children to promote self protection attitudes and mechanisms.
- Training and supporting of parents and professionals.
- Rehabilitation of the victims of abuse and their families.
- Legislation of laws and procedures.
We also met with Law expert Tania Tabet that explainned to us the difference between an establishment and a society in the law dictionnary. An establishment is an arranged order or system, especially a legal code while a society is a group of humans broadly distinguished from other groups by mutual interests, participation in characteristic relationships, shared institutions, and a common culture.
In our fashion segment, Karine Tawil will talk about the impact of the japanese culture in our daily fashion.
Our next guest was professor in Anthropology Maha Kahal who talked to us about a conference that she is presiding in order to shed the light on the lack of cultural places like active museams in Lebanon.
Our next guest is the coordinator and executive president of new Arab Woman forum Nadine Abou Zaki that will talk about the 5th New Arab Woman Forum, that will be held on 2-3 March 2011, at the Four Seasons Hotel, Beirut, and organized by Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group and Al Hasnaa Magazine and in cooperation with the League of Arab States attracted the attendance of over 500 participants, including women civil, syndicate, media and official authorities, and a large number of business women, cultural, intellectual and artistic figures from 22 countries.
Our next guest is photographer and singer Marc Nader. As a commercial photographer for almost four decades. He always made it a point to find time to create HIS very own personal images, to look, see, appreciate, and then try to bring out the quintessence of what he sees and feel through that tiny piece of glass commonly referred to as a viewfinder, but that he”d rather call the “Magic Window”.
There are so many things around us, way out there or just right here, which too often and quite unfortunately go totally unnoticed.
Hope you enjoyed today’s episode.
