Fashion, books and much more on Helwi Beirut’s episode 80!

Hi all,

Our episode today was filled with interesting guests and reports. Our main guest was director Hady Zaccak who won two weeks ago the Fipresci Arab Documentary Award for his film “Marcedes”. The main character of this film is called Marcedes. He began working on it four years ago and also directed “A History Lesson”, “Taxi Beirut” and many others!

During our image consultancy segment, image and fashion consultant Maya el-Tal continued last week’s topic and added pointers on how to update your closet with basics. In addition she showed us how to find our perfect holiday dress.

Public Relations Manager at SOS, Layla Saad was part of our show today. She told us about the SOS activities during the holiday season. SOS now has a Gift Card. The Gift Card allows you to help SOS.

Photographer and director Genia Boustany who graduated from IESAV two years ago was a guest on our show today. Her senior project, a short film, was named “In Fragments”. “In Fragments” tells the story of two brothers from divorced parents who meet by chance during a casting for the play Romeo and Juliet. One of them lives with the mother and the other is homosexual.

Illustrator and visual artist Jorj Abou Mhayya was a guest on our show talking about his book “Madinat Moujawinat Lelared”. This is the first comic book for adults to be released by Dar Konboz. The book talks about a Lebanese guy who returns to his house at the end of the day only to find that he has no house. Part II of his book will be released soon.
