Psychology tips, fresh fashion designs and raising awareness on HWM’s Episode 6

Hi all!

Today’s episode had some interesting guests and reports. Our main guest was head of Environmental Health department at the American University of Beirut (AUB) May al-Jurdi. She shared with us insights from her latest research project on the Litani River and how the government is trying to revive the river’s wild life and to improve the quality of the water after its abuse by sewers and fertilizers among other things.

In our Psychology segment with Joanna Imad, we discussed the causes, symptoms and treatment of acute stress. Here are some pointers to inform you about this topic:

Causes: a traumatic experience

Symptoms: insomnia, nightmares, inability to focus, and inability to analyze received information

Treatment: psychotherapy, having a family/ friends support system, communicating with others

Since we’re on the topic of taking care of oneself, we talked to Fadia Abdouche about the practical guide by Dar al-Farasha called “The perfect body in 10 minutes every day”.

Also on the topic, here’s a report giving you five practical tips on how to return energized to work after a vacation.

In our fashion segment, we hosted fashion designer and model Assia Kojo to share with us her Body Tops collection. These beautiful designs are bound to be all the rage! Check out her Facebook page.
